My Hungarian War of Independence Collection

I collect both sides: the Austrian Imperial Army and the Hungarian Honvéd Army in 15 mm for 1848-49. These are the pictures of the figures I painted so far:

Hungarian Generals in 1848-49 - finished unit

One missing part of my Honvéd Army was the generall staff. I have painted three brigade commanders and a division commander.

Generals of the Austrian Imperial Army

At first stage my plan is to set up a division level game for 1848-49. Obviously it means that I have to paint a Hungarian and an Austrian division. Both sides will have two infantry brigades and one cavalry brigade in their division. Therefore four generals are needed for each side to command such an army: one Feldmarschall-Lieutenant (division commander) and three Generalmajors (brigade commanders).

6pdr Honvéd Artillery Battery - Finished Unit

One main unit type which was missing from my 1848 Hungarian Honvéd Army was artillery. So because of this I have just painted a battery of three 6pdr cannons.

More Austrian Line Infantry Battalions - Finished Unit

Most wargamers boosted their figure collection during the quarantine and painted a lot of miniatures. At the same time, I could only manage to finish these two Austrian battalions.

Austrian 6pdr artillery battery 1848-49 - Finished unit

My Hungarian Revolutionary project is going on. The next step is to put up artillery for both sides. I have managed to finish a 6 pdr Austrian battery. Currently I'm working on its Hungarian counterpart.

Hungarian Honvéd Battalions - finsihed unit

My new wargame project will be the Hungarian War of Independence of 1848-49. This is an interesting part of military history because it was more than a revolution and had similar warfare to the Napoleonic age.
